Foundation:
It is of great importance to get children to interpret and understand the place where we live. In order to do so, it is essential to place them on the planet we belong to, telling them about its features.
The man lives and grows in it, he takes what he needs from it and with his actions he modifies what needs to be changed.
It is also interesting to develop children's curiosity to explore the place we live in, and, thus, discover what we need to live on earth.
La vuelta al mundo en 80 días (Around The World in 80 Days) is a classic work of literature in which we can find a suitable resource to approach this workshop.
We aim at getting two fundamental goals:
. Curiosity, opening and doubt as the basis of scientific knowledge.
. Diversity of opinions: simple hypotheses.
. Considering children's cognitive skills, we have decided to make the workshop according to ages.
. Since the play is so wide as regards what can be done, a workshop for children aged 6 and 7 and another for those aged 8 will be given.
